Caught my Cyclops Mouse with an Ambush/Dehy/Swiss. It doesn't appear often.
And now it drops the Gnarled Tree Map Piece and opens up the Great Gnarled Tree Location.
I was successful in my hunt! I caught a 5 oz. Cyclops mouse from the Calm Clearing worth 2,796 points and 2,805 gold. The mouse also dropped the following loot: 1 gnarled tree map piece.

i caught mine with the NVMRC/DEHY/SWISS.
now im in the gnarled tree. i need more points. im only a new master. so...i have to be patient.
Has anyone caught a Cyclops with the Swiss Army Trap? I am only a journeyman and it is the strongest trap I have right now, I have gotten a few nibbles by a cyclops but haven't caught one. I am saving up gold and points. Any suggestions for trap purchases? Force field or Venus Trap? Or something else?
I've been trying to catch this sucker for a week now... I've got both the Zugzwang's Last Move and NVMRC traps, so I'm at 3000+ power, yet the darned thing keeps nibbling and avoiding my trap. What's it take for this rodent? :)

I've caught two so far using the Swiss Army/Explosive/Swiss, and I'm a journeyman. Also two ate some cheese but scuppered off! It's the only one of the "very difficult" mice using my set-up that I've managed to catch...
I've looked it up for you; the swiss army mouse trap with the explosive base has a forty percent chance to catch the cyclops mouse. You will catch approximately 1 per every 200 hunts. To be frank; you're really wasting your time here. As to the NVMRC, you have a 56% chance, and you will catch one approximately every 150 hunts. I know from my cousin's experience that NVMRC is a fine trap to use, but will not work very well in the GGT. If you have it, I suggest the Partybot, or the Ambush traps, due to the fact that they can completely obliterate everything there without too much difficulty.
(As a side note about the GGT, fairies are highly uncommon, I get an attraction about once a week, and are very uncommon to catch as well. My Partybot/Polar combo has a solid 40% chance to catch them, and I'm sorry to admit I've missed 5 consecutive fairies, NVMRC has a decent chance, but is still not very likely to catch them (30% chance). LOL. my cuz just hit the calm clearing as journeyman w/ nvmrc (he he, he's family, and he paid me back in full) Within 5 hours there, he caught two cyclops. I personally caught mine within a day, so I think it's all a matter of luck. GL if you still havn't gotten them.

I checked my trap and found that I had caught a mouse! I caught an 8 oz. Cyclops mouse from the Calm Clearing worth 2,793 points and 2,808 gold.
The mouse also dropped the following loot:
1 Gnarled Tree Map Piece.
My trap set-up was
NVMRC, wooden base with target and brie cheese!!!
i caught mine late at night.
i used deathbot/dehy/swiss
i think hunting at night will make you luckier.
I have a shrink ray/dehy/swiss
will i be able to catch it??? i am just a journeyman.... shud i buy the swiss army trap ? please help

I sounded the Hunter's Horn and was successful in the hunt! I caught a 7 oz. Cyclops Mouse worth 2,800 points and 2,800 gold.
The mouse also dropped the following loot:
1 Simple Orb, 1 Gnarled Tree Map Piece and 1 Cherry Potion
I finaly got it after 2 days! :)
My setup was swiss army/explosive/swiss
I caught it as my second mouse using swiss army/exploding/swiss.
im a grandmaster who never spent much time in the calm clearing. i just got the Furoma map piece in the mousoleum so i opened up the training grounds and i need a good tactical trap. I'm in the clearing right now trying to kill this little bugger with a NVMRC/Dehy/brie. i just need to get to the tree so i can buy a venus mouse trap and craft it with the sludge for a mutated venus and be effective in the training grounds. ZLM is too expensive. this mouse is a bitch to catch. with my setup at least

I had the EXACTLY same problem! Few weeks ago I tried for around 7 days to get the little bugger and I gave up and moved further, than I came to the situation that I must have him because until couple a minutes ago I was in the exactly same position as you so I googled, googled, googled and I found this:

My set wasn't exactly as his, mine was swiss/explosive/swiss and just as I changed to Brie the little bugger came, so try this and good luck.
Any luck with Candy Cane Base and Gift Wrap?

The mice is challenging when you have an NVRMC trap and a jade base plus brie chesse and its very easy with a digby drill bot. I cuaght the mice at nigth when I was sleeping good luck!
